About unijah
Unijah started as a conversation between two places — Norway and Ukraine.
In 2023, Tor, born in Norway, was in Kharkiv doing volunteer work with the Norwegian animal rescue organization NorDog. Yanina, an artist from Ukraine, was living in Norway, not far from where Tor had grown up. They connected through Instagram — Tor in Ukraine, Yanina in Norway — and a friendship formed.
Tor was drawn to Yanina’s paintings. They carried something quiet but strong. In the spring of 2024, he had an idea: to create clothing that carried her artwork — not just as prints, but as expressions you can wear.
That idea became unijah.
Unijah is a collaboration. Tor shaped the concept, Yanina creates the art, and together they’ve made something neither of them could have made alone.
We don’t see unijah as a fashion brand. It’s not trend-based. It’s not mass-produced. Each garment starts as a painting and ends as a piece of wearable art.
All products are made to order. There is no overproduction, no unsold inventory, no seasonal waste. The fashion industry wastes more than 30% of what it produces. Unijah wastes 0%.
We produce responsibly, using soft organic cotton and a lean, on-demand model that avoids stockpiles and landfill. It's not about being perfect — it's about being intentional.
The first collection launches in end of May 2025. It includes sixteen pieces — eight t-shirts and eight hoodies — built around four series: unijah:one, unijah:reborn, unijah:fire, unijah:free.
If there is interest, we hope to grow carefully. Over time, if the project proves sustainable, we will explore ways to support causes we care about — including humanitarian work in Ukraine.
Unijah exists for people who want something different from what fashion usually offers. Not branding, but feeling. Not noise, but presence. A way to carry art, quietly, into the world.
If this resonates with you, there’s more to come.
